Diet Principals For Diabetes
Basic Nutritional requirements of a patient with Diabetes are the same as those of Non-Diabetic person. Diet should be varied and palatable. Carbohydrates, fats and calories to be restricted, as advised by the Doctor or Dietician.

Diet Restrictions
To Be Taken To Be Avoided
Vegetables: Leafy green Vegetables, Spinach (Palak), Radish,(Muli), Ash Guard, Bitter Guard (Kerala), Cabbage, Brinjals, Broad Beans, Cucumber, Knol-khol, Lady Finger,Plantain Flower, Drumsticks, Snake Guard, Onion, Green Tomatoes, Tender Jack.w Vegetables: Potato, Sweet, Potato, Yam, Plantain, Beet Root, Arvi, Chaukhander.
Fruits: Apple, Orange, Guava, Pomegranate,Water Melon, Papaya, Jamun, Citrus Fruits. Fruits: Banana, Mango, Sapota,Custard Apple, Grapes, Dry Fuits(Khajur, Anjeer, Munakka, Raisins etc.)
Food: Milk, Food: Jaggery,Sugar, Egg (Yellow)
Oil: Oils rich in Polyunsaturated fats, such as Soyabean Oil, Sunflower Oil, Safflower Oil, Mustard Oil, Kardi Oil. Oil: Oil Extracted from Animals, Butter, Coconut Oil.

To be taken in limited quantity: Corn, Wheat, Chapati, Bread, Dalia.

To be avoided totally: Sugar, Sweets Chocolates, Pastry, Jelly, Sweet Juince,Sweet Biscuits
